Verrency Wins Fintech Australia’s 2018 Finnie Awards

Australian global payments provider Verrency has been rewarded for its overseas expansion last night, winning FinTech Australia’s 2018 FINNIE Awards for Excellence in Establishing Market Presence: Global.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Verrency has opened offices in San Francisco, London and Singapore over the past 12 months.

The Excellence in Establishing Market Presence: Global category recognises a FinTech company that has most successfully proliferated its presence and identity globally through the creation of a strong brand or IP strategy.

The judges lauded the strategic approaches Verrency has taken in the market, citing the company’s acceptance into the prestigious accelerator Plug and Play in the US and Singapore as well as its partnership with UnionPay International in Asia.

Verrency CEO and Founder David Link, who was a finalist for the Outstanding FinTech Leader of the Year, said: “I’m honoured and thrilled to have Verrency recognised by FinTech Australia for the Excellence in Establishing Market Presence: Global at this year’s FINNIE Awards. Our commitment to taking payment innovation to the global stage has been core to our operations since Verrency started in 2016.”

Link also praised his team, which is now approaching 25, saying the win would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of my best-in-class team.

In its second year, the 2018 FINNIE Awards saw a 40% increase in entries from 2017 with a record 223 submissions, from which 89 finalists were shortlisted.
